About

I’m a designer who ships production software by directing AI agents

I’m José Ochoa, a product and web designer in Bellingham, Washington. I trained as an industrial designer, co-founded a startup that won an investment on Shark Tank México, and led brand and web design at GoHomes and Omneky.

Since March 2025 I’ve been the web designer at Community Food Co-op, where I designed its WordPress theme and design system and shipped two production plugins. I treat the specification, the review gate and the proof as part of the design.

Twelve years from industrial design to shipped systems

  1. Industrial and Product Design at Tecnológico de Monterrey (B.A., 2018).

  2. Co-founded Ecomush, a water-saving car-wash startup. Shark Tank México winner, 2020.

  3. Lead of branding and digital content, GoHomes, Mexico.

  4. Visual designer, Omneky, an AI ad-creative startup.

  5. Lead web design, Omneky: Webflow, Figma design systems, localization.

  6. Web designer, Community Food Co-op, Bellingham.

  7. Shipped a forms-to-SharePoint plugin (June), design system v1.0 (July) and CFC Bakery Orders (November).

I’ve already solved a smaller version of Epoch’s design problem

  • Coherence at AI speed.

Your Website PM posting says researchers change the site with Claude, and the job is keeping that fast without it becoming incoherent. My token contract, drift checker and hook exist for exactly that.

  • Data products, end to end.

Staff dashboards, a case study with every chart computed from real data, and a study on your CC-BY data in D3 and matplotlib.

  • A written method for working with agents.

Specs, review gates and phone checks, plus a retro that cut what cost too much. The evidence is on the process page.
